On a cold crisp December morning the Theatre Royal Haymarket was a most welcome destination. The red velvet seats, boosted for some, and extravagant décor added to the anticipation of Peppa Pig's Fun Day Out!
From the start the show connected with the excited but very well-behaved younger audience. Closely following in the footsteps of the TV staple, the stage is filled with colourful characters, catchy songs, and plenty of opportunities for audience participation.
The story follows Peppa and her family as they embark on a fun-filled day out. First stop, the zoo, where we meet penguins, butterflies, and reptiles, all of which are brought to life with humour and sensitivity. Then it’s onto the beach, for a swim and to meet more new friends including a friendly whale, dolphin and starfish.
Always engaging, the enthusiastic cast, bring the characters to life with their trademark voices and movements. The puppets are well-made, the songs are catchy and most importantly, the young audience is sold, immersed throughout the show hour long show in two halves.
The children are encouraged to participate in the action with plenty of opportunities to sing and dance along.
Peppa Pig's Fun Day Out! is a charming and delightful show sure to be a hit with children of all ages. Fans of the TV show are guaranteed a great day out in a splendid venue.
