Award winning venue The White Bear Theatre and debut writer-director Jules Chan, a Filipino theatre artist and actor, announces the premiere of Days in Quarantine. A new part-verbatim play about lockdown and the experience of young people supported by Arts Council England.
This impactful new play is inspired by the true stories of young people and platforms a dynamic and intersectional cast of artists. This deeply human and tender portrait of resilience intertwines the journeys of eight twenty-somethings who are forced into a space of introspection. Chan’s candid and at times almost documentarian play is deeply personal, expertly weaving moments of grief with his sharpened sense of humour. The play returns again and again to the question – “What is most meaningful when life and time have seemingly ground to a halt?”
This is Chan’s debut play as a writer-director. As an actor and movement practitioner Chan has worked with the critically acclaimed physical ensemble The Pappy Show on What Do You See? (Shoreditch Town Hall) and BOYS (The Barbican) in 2022.
The production runs from 08 November to 19 November.
