Kiln Theatre has released brand-new artwork for its major upcoming revival of Natasha Gordon’s award-winning play Nine Night. Directed by Kiln Theatre Artistic Director Amit Sharma, the production has already extended its run due to popular demand, now playing from 12 November 2026 through 2 January 2027, with press night set for Friday 20 November.

Gordon’s seminal debut play explores the poignant and funny dynamics of grief, centering on three generations of a London family gathering for a traditional Jamaican wake following the death of matriarch Gloria. As relatives and mourners assemble—bringing rum, food, and long-standing grievances—tensions flare, forcing the family to confront uncomfortable truths over the nine days of mourning.

The revival features a strong ensemble cast, including Sonya Cassidy as Sophie, Estella Daniels as Trudy, Llewella Gideon as Auntie Maggie, and Ava Hinds-Jones as Anita. Joining them are Gary McDonald as Uncle Vincent, Dani Moseley as Lorraine, and Javone Prince as Robert.

Directed by Sharma, whose recent work includes Retrograde and Please Please Me, the production’s creative team includes Set and Costume Designer Libby Watson, Lighting Designer Rory Beaton, and Sound Designer and Composer Mwen. Movement Direction is by Kloé Dean, with Voice and Dialect coaching by Hazel Holder and Claudette Williams. Casting is led by Julia Horan CDG alongside Casting Assistant Poppy Apter.

Capturing the rituals, humor, and hardships of family loss, Nine Night stands as a celebrated modern classic in British theatre. The new production promises an engaging look at cultural tradition and family secrets at Kiln Theatre this winter.
