Tristan & Yseult, the critically acclaimed production that took the theatrical world by storm, is set to make a triumphant return to London for the first time in ten years. Running from 11–27 March 2027 at the iconic Alexandra Palace Theatre, this landmark show offers audiences an unmissable theatrical experience.

First created in 2003, this internationally celebrated production blends myth, live music, movement, and comedy into a visceral and heartbreakingly beautiful narrative. Written by Anna Maria Murphy and Carl Grose, and adapted and directed by Emma Rice, the show is co-produced by the Emma Rice Company, Alexandra Palace Theatre, York Theatre Royal, and Nottingham Playhouse.

At the heart of the story lies a timeless love triangle between King Mark, his queen Yseult, and the valiant knight Tristan. Their journey of forbidden passion unfolds through dynamic storytelling, with the quirky ‘Club of the Unloved’ framing the drama and offering a fresh perspective on the central lovers.

The cast brings together exceptional talent, featuring Nandi Bhebhe as Yseult, John Leader as Tristan, and Edward Rowe as King Mark. Supporting roles and musical execution are delivered by Matthew Churcher, Tom Fox, Jack Heydon, Stephanie Hockley, Nigel Sudarkasa, Stu Barker, Philippa Hogg, Mary Johnson, Harry Miller, and Pat Moran.

Originally produced by Kneehigh and Emma Rice, the show debuted outdoors at Restormel Castle and Rufford Abbey before capturing international acclaim and playing the National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe. The creative team features composer Stu Barker, sound designer Simon Baker, lighting designer Malcolm Rippeth, and choreographer Etta Murfitt, alongside refreshed set and costume designs by Vicki Mortimer based on Bill Mitchell’s original work.

Following a widespread tour across the UK and a run at New York City's St Ann’s Warehouse, the production culminates at London’s historic Alexandra Palace Theatre. Tickets and full schedule information are available via the official Alexandra Palace website.
