First look trailer for Disney's High School Musical London transfer starring Harry Judd and Kaycee Stroh

Excitement is reaching a fever pitch as the full cast is officially announced for the first-ever UK non-replica production of Disney's High School Musical.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the cultural phenomenon that inspired an entire generation, this major new staging opens at Lowry in Salford on August 22, 2026, running until September 19, before transferring to London's Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre for a festive season run from October 12, 2026, through January 3, 2027.

Leading the star-studded ensemble is Jason Donovan, who will step into the role of Coach Bolton during the Salford run before McFly's Harry Judd takes over the iconic part for the London transfer. Starring across both venues is Disney icon KayCee Stroh as the beloved Ms Darbus, alongside Tobias Turley as Troy Bolton, Leonor Correia as Gabriella Montez, Caitlin Tipping as Sharpay Evans, and Luke Bayer as Ryan Evans.

The powerhouse principal line-up is further bolstered by Char Burnett as Taylor McKessie, Jordan Benjamin as Chad Danforth, Simeon Beckett as Zeke Baylor, Olivia O’Connor as Martha Cox, Yna Tresvalles as Kelsi Nielson, and Curtis Patrick as Jack Scott, supported by an expansive ensemble of top-tier theatrical talent.

Co-directed by Hope Mill Theatre founders Joseph Houston and William Whelton, this landmark revival features a book by David Simpatico and music adapted and produced by Bryan Louiselle. Audiences can look forward to hearing all the timeless, high-energy anthems that defined a decade, including "Breaking Free," "We’re All In This Together," "Get’cha Head in the Game," and "Stick to the Status Quo."

Produced by Hope Mill Theatre and Chris Harper Productions in association with Lowry, this fresh reimagining promises to deliver an unforgettable theatrical experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike as it brings the magic of East High back to the stage this autumn.
