From The Heart returns to the West End this autumn in its most ambitious incarnation yet, running for a strictly limited 15 performances at London's Garrick Theatre from Thursday 8th to Sunday 18th October 2026. Refined and expanded following acclaimed concert performances in 2025, the production brings together an extraordinary cast to celebrate the remarkable career and catalogue of Oscar-winning lyricist Don Black.
Olivier Award nominee Frances Mayli McCann and EastEnders star Shona McGarty officially join the line-up for this special run. They perform alongside a powerhouse ensemble including international musical theatre icon Caroline O'Connor, Olivier Award winner Clive Rowe, and two-time Olivier Award nominee Michael D. Xavier. Expressing her delight at joining the production, McGarty shared her excitement to take part in the show and sing the songs of such a legendary figure.
Directed by Nick Winston, From The Heart acts as Black’s personal tribute to the vibrant New York cabaret scene that has fueled his artistic journey. The show features brand new compositions created alongside stellar collaborators including Gary Barlow, Natasha Bedingfield, David Arnold, Debbie Wiseman, and Mike Batt. Musical direction is led by Joe Church, with arrangements and musical supervision by Nick Barstow.
Each 80-minute performance will welcome a surprise special guest before culminating in a grand medley of classic hits. Audiences can look forward to timeless standards such as Born Free, Ben, Love Changes Everything, With One Look, To Sir With Love, and As If We Never Said Goodbye. The showcase also highlights Black's famous screen legacy with a dedicated salute to his iconic James Bond themes, including Diamonds Are Forever, Thunderball, The Man With The Golden Gun, and The World Is Not Enough.
With a distinguished career spanning over five decades, Don Black remains one of the most prolific lyricists in stage and screen history. From The Heart gathers the stories, melodies, and partnerships that have defined his career into one definitive West End event.
