First-look rehearsal images have been released for the upcoming production of Jonathan Larson’s Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical RENT. Directed by Olivier Award winner Luke Sheppard, the new production will begin performances at the Tom Stoppard Theatre (formerly Duke of York's Theatre) on Saturday 26 September 2026.

The leading cast features Gaten Matarazzo as Mark, Travis Ross as Roger, Alexa Lopez as Mimi, and Billy Nevers as Collins. They are joined by Lazy Violet as Maureen, Olivier Award nominee Danielle Fiamanya as Joanne, Jeevan Braich as Angel, and Joaquin Pedro Valdes as Benny.

The company is completed by an ensemble including Baylie Carson, Laura Delany, Ryesha Higgs, Montoya Holloway-Johnson, Rhys Hopkins, Shem Omari James, Hannah Macpherson, TJ Matara-Holloway, Ryan Nixon, Leah Vassell, James Wilkinson-Jones, and Kevin Yates.

Featuring music, lyrics, and book by Jonathan Larson, the landmark musical will feature choreography by Tom Jackson Greaves. The creative team includes set design by David Woodhead, costume design by Gabriella Slade, lighting design by Howard Hudson, and sound design alongside audio production by Paul Gatehouse. Video design and cinematography are handled by George Reeve and Nathan Amzi, with make-up and hair design by Jackie Saundercock. Casting is by Pearson Casting for the UK and Jim Carnahan for the US.

Bill Sherman serves as musical supervisor alongside Katy Richardson as musical director and associate musical supervisor. The off-stage team is rounded out by associate director Priya Patel Appleby, intimacy director Asha Jennings-Grant, and dialect coach Joe Trill.

This new staging of RENT is produced in the West End by Chris Harper Productions, Sonia Friedman Productions, Winkler & Smalberg, and Julie Larson, in association with the Hope Mill Theatre. The musical was originally produced on Broadway by Jeffrey Seller, Kevin McCollum, Allan S. Gordon, and the New York Theatre Workshop.
