Producers of Burlesque the Musical have released a first-look image set as the theatrical adaptation begins a major UK tour running through spring 2027.
Based on Steven Antin’s Golden Globe-winning film starring Christina Aguilera and Cher, the stage musical features an original script alongside songs by Aguilera, Sia, Diane Warren, Jess Folley, Todrick Hall, and Antin. The narrative follows Ali Rose, a young woman who travels to New York searching for her mother, Tess Richarde, only to discover a vibrant underground world of ambition, temptation, and music within an iconic performance venue.
Former Coronation Street star and Dancing On Ice runner-up Faye Brookes leads the cast as club owner Tess Richarde. Brookes' previous musical theatre credits include starring roles in Chicago, Legally Blonde, Shrek, and Strictly Ballroom.
Recent graduate Gracie O’Brien makes her professional stage debut in the lead role of Ali Rose, performing alongside Ryan Carter (Titanique, Motown The Musical) as Sean and Ms Loretta. The principal cast also features Davide Fienauri as Vince, Tyler Davis as Jackson, and Vanessa Ela Young as Nikki.
The creative team is led by producer, writer, and creative director Steven Antin, with direction by Racky Plews (American Idiot) and choreography by Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin alongside Aaron Renfree. Christina Aguilera serves as a lead producer alongside Adam Paulden, Jason Haigh-Ellery, Clint Culpepper, and In Fine Company.
Following opening dates in Sunderland and Stoke-on-Trent, the 2026/2027 tour visits venue residencies across the UK, including Cardiff's Wales Millennium Centre, Glasgow's King’s Theatre, Birmingham's The Alexandra, Liverpool Empire, and Blackpool Winter Gardens.
The tour continues into 2027 with multi-week engagements at the Manchester Opera House, Edinburgh Playhouse, York Grand Opera House, and the Oxford New Theatre, before concluding at Canterbury's Marlowe Theatre in May 2027.
