Commuters at St Pancras International experienced an unexpected prehistoric encounter on Thursday 13 August 2026, as lifelike dinosaur puppets from the Olivier Award-winning family production Dinosaur World Live were spotted roaming the station. Passengers stopped to interact with Tam, a baby Tyrannosaurus Rex, Juliet the Segnosaurus, and Orlando the Microraptor as the impressive creatures mingled throughout the concourse.
The surprise appearance marked the return of the interactive children’s theatre show to London, where it is currently playing a limited summer season at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre through Sunday 6 September 2026.
Dinosaur World Live offers an engaging blend of entertainment and education designed for young audiences and families. Guided on stage by the character Miranda, played by Lizzie Burder, the interactive show takes theatergoers on an exploration of a prehistoric landscape populated by remarkably realistic animatronic and puppet creatures. Throughout the performance, Miranda introduces children to a variety of prehistoric species, including a Triceratops, a massive Giraffatitan, the Microraptor, the Segnosaurus, and every child's favorite flesh-eating giant, the iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The impressive stage production relies on a skilled cast of puppeteers to bring the prehistoric beasts to life. Beside Lizzie Burder in the lead role, the performing company features Nat Speight, who serves as both puppeteer and puppetry captain, William Chaplin Stephens as puppeteer and puppet technician, along with puppeteers Sebastian Chambers, Georgia Wall, and Alice Bravery.
Combining striking puppetry design with interactive storytelling, the production aims to spark curiosity about history and science while providing an accessible theatrical experience. Following their brief excursion through central London, the dinosaurs have returned to their home at Wembley Park, where performances continue through the remainder of the summer holidays.
