The National Space Centre is set to combine rockets and pop anthems this summer as it hosts a brand-new Swedish supergroup tribute night. Titled Cosmic Dancing Queens, the glitter-filled celebration lands on Saturday, August 15, 2026, inviting music fans to pull on their platform boots and dance beneath the iconic spacecraft exhibits.
The National Space Centre introduces the event following the sell-out success of its previous themed music nights, Cosmic Country and Cosmic Emo, which established the Leicester attraction as one of the UK’s most unique live music venues. With previous events selling out well in advance, organisers are encouraging ABBA enthusiasts to secure tickets early for the latest space-themed party.
The National Space Centre will host a live tribute band performing a set list packed with instantly recognizable hits, crowd-pleasing sing-alongs, and classic dance floor favorites. Beyond the live performance, resident MC Dec will guide the evening's entertainment, hosting interactive games, competitions, and special prize giveaways while the venue transforms into a disco-inspired party space.
The National Space Centre will offer all guests a complimentary welcome drink upon arrival before the live band takes to the stage. Following the main performance, the party will continue late into the evening with a dedicated 80s disco set. Attendees can also opt for VIP upgrade packages, which include priority entry to the venue and themed party accessories to kick off the festivities.
The National Space Centre is hosting Cosmic Dancing Queens as part of its ongoing 25th anniversary celebrations. Since opening its doors in June 2001, the Millennium Commission landmark project has welcomed almost six million visitors and earned national recognition, including Visit England’s silver award for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year.
