CEILIDH A NEW MUSICAL is officially set to make its highly anticipated London debut at Shoreditch Town Hall from 22 October until 13 November 2026. Proudly presented by Grove Entertainment, Barbara Whitman, Trafalgar Theatre Productions, and Eilene Davidson Productions, the hit Scottish musical sensation will follow its strictly limited London engagement with a massive tour across the UK, visiting High Wycombe, Eastbourne, Fareham, Guildford, and Bradford.
The production arrives in London following its initial premiere at Pitlochry Town Hall, where it launched as part of Alan Cumming’s inaugural season as Artistic Director of the Pitlochry Festival Theatre. "It’s only fitting that a show so beautifully entertaining and Scottish to its very core should start its journey here in Pitlochry, before it reels its way down to Shoreditch Town Hall and across the rest of the UK," Cumming commented. "It is a gorgeous, heartfelt story wrapped up in an unadulterated night of joy, dancing, music and pure Highland magic!"
The vibrant staging is directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winning director Sam Pinkleton, whose recent theatrical successes include Oh! Mary and Broadway's smash-hit revival of The Rocky Horror Show. The original book, music, and lyrics have been crafted by the acclaimed Scottish duo Scott Gilmour and Claire McKenzie, operating under their prominent partnership banner Noisemaker. The pair, who are the current recipients of the prestigious Jonathan Larson Grant for Musical Theatre Writing, have developed over twenty original theatrical works since forming in 2012.
The brand-new production functions as an immersive, theatrical gathering of songs, stories, and traditional dances that invites the audience directly into the heart of one of Scotland's oldest traditions. Guided by a lively, energetic on-stage caller, the performance seamlessly builds into an intimate family story of love and legacy. Offering audiences the chance to take in the action from the floor or view it from the balcony, the show is designed to meet theatregoers exactly where they are. Tickets for the entire UK tour are now officially on sale.
