The West End's most decorated new musical is officially crossing the Atlantic. Producers Sonia Friedman Productions, STUDIOCANAL, and Eliza Lumley Productions have announced that the record-breaking sensation, Paddington The Musical, will make its highly anticipated Broadway debut in Spring 2027.
Performances are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 30, 2027, ahead of an official opening night on Sunday, April 18, 2027, at Broadway’s historic Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
Based on Michael Bond’s beloved book "A Bear Called Paddington" and the award-winning STUDIOCANAL film franchise, the production arrives in New York with unprecedented critical acclaim. The show made history in London as the most awarded new musical in West End history, sweeping the 2026 Olivier Awards with seven wins, including Best New Musical. It also secured a record-breaking nine WhatsOnStage Awards and the prestigious Critics’ Circle Award.
The musical features a score by Olivier Award-winning composer Tom Fletcher, a book by Jessica Swale, and direction by Luke Sheppard. The creative team expressed immense excitement about bringing the production's core themes of kindness, inclusion, and family to a new audience.
