Producers Kevin McCollum, Lucas McMahon, Mike Lavoie, and Carlee Briglia have officially announced that global drag icon and award-winning actress Jinkx Monsoon will make her highly anticipated West End debut this summer. Monsoon will reprise her critically acclaimed performance as Mary Todd Lincoln in the Olivier Award-winning comedy Oh, Mary! for a strictly limited six-week engagement at the Trafalgar Theatre, running from August 17 to September 26, 2026.

The historic production, written by Tony Award winner Cole Escola and directed by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton, has taken the theater world by storm. It tells a dark, irreverent comedy about a suffocated, alcohol-fueled Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks preceding her husband's assassination. The West End transfer recently won Best Entertainment or Comedy Play at the Olivier Awards, and due to unprecedented box office demand, its overall run at the Trafalgar Theatre has been extended through January 2, 2027.

Monsoon’s casting follows a record-breaking, sold-out Broadway stint in the same role, which was heralded as one of the best theatrical performances of 2025 by The New York Times. As the first and only two-time winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Monsoon has quickly transitioned into a major theatrical powerhouse, previously shattering box office records in Chicago on Broadway, starring in Little Shop of Horrors, and appearing on television as the villainous Maestro in the BBC and Disney+ series Doctor Who.

The West End production currently stars Catherine Tate in the titular role until her final performance on July 18. Playwright Cole Escola will then fly to London to step into the role for a four-week engagement from July 20 to August 15, immediately preceding Monsoon’s arrival. Initially premiering Off-Broadway in early 2024 before its record-shattering Broadway transfer, the production went on to become a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Tickets for Monsoon's strictly limited six-week engagement are expected to sell out rapidly via the venue's official ticketing networks.
