The critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning stage production Stranger Things: The First Shadow will extend for its final time, officially concluding its historic theatrical runs in both London’s West End and on Broadway. The production is scheduled to complete its West End run at the Phoenix Theatre on December 27, 2026, before wrapping up its Broadway engagement at the Marquis Theatre on January 3, 2027.

By the time the final curtains fall, the production will have run for more than three years in London. Following its premiere in 2023, the play went on to win multiple Olivier Awards, including Best Entertainment and Best Set Design, alongside a WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Play. After crossing the Atlantic to New York's Marquis Theatre, the show continued to shatter box office milestones, becoming the most Tony Award-winning play of 2025 by taking home four major accolades, including Best Scenic Design and a Special Tony Award for Illusions and Technical Effects.

This landmark project represents an unprecedented collaboration between the mediums of television and theatre, marking Netflix’s inaugural venture into live stage production. Over the course of its dual-city run, the show has achieved more than 1,500 total performances and sold nearly 1.6 million tickets globally. The innovative production has been widely praised for attracting vast new demographics to the theatre world, with a significant percentage of attendees experiencing a live Broadway or West End show for the very first time.

Written by Kate Trefry and directed by Stephen Daldry alongside co-director Justin Martin, the narrative expands the mythology of the hit television universe by diving into the origins of Henry Creel. The core creative team includes set designer Miriam Buether, costume designer Brigitte Reiffenstuel, and lighting designer Jon Clark, with specialized illusion and technical effects crafted by Jamie Harrison and Chris Fisher. Tickets for the final remaining blocks of performances in both London and New York are currently available through the official production booking registry.
