The Pleasance Theatre Trust has announced a significant expansion to its 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe programme, adding 95 new productions to its summer lineup. This latest wave of shows captures the full energy of the festival, featuring a diverse mix of global comedy heavyweights, bold theatrical debuts, and returning fan favourites across comedy, theatre, and family entertainment.

In the comedy category, the programme welcomes several high-profile performers. Tim Vine returns with his new show, Sillypun Valley, while Tony and Emmy winner Alex Edelman presents What Are You Going to Do. Political satirist Matt Forde brings Project Holy Moly, and Britain’s Got Talent winner Viggo Venn debuts Only One. The lineup also features international talent including India’s Kanan Gill and Australian sketch group Mates Rates, alongside viral sensations like Alfie Dundas and Imogen Andrews. Marking a milestone for artist development, the Pleasance Comedy Reserve celebrates its 20th show, showcasing four hand-picked rising stars.

The theatre programme is equally robust, led by a comedic revival of the 2003 classic 12 Angry Men, reimagined as 11 ½ Angry Men with an all-star cast of comedians. The Pleasance continues its commitment to new work through the Charlie Hartill Fund, supporting winners Reparations and the camp musical Remember, Remember!. Furthermore, the Edinburgh National Partnerships bring a variety of regional talent to the stage, including the drag boyband musical MAN!FEST and the Belfast-based drama The Pitch.

Legacy and anniversaries play a key role this year, with The Big Bite-Size Breakfast Show celebrating 20 years at the Fringe and the smash-hit WE ARE IAN marking its 10th anniversary. Children and families are also well-catered for with interactive productions like Showstopper! The Kids Show and the chaotic Spencer Jones Experimental Kids Show.

As an arts charity, the Pleasance Theatre Trust remains dedicated to fostering innovation and supporting emerging voices. This expansive 2026 programme reinforces the venue's position as a vital hub for discovery, providing an accessible platform for artists at every career stage to take creative risks and entertain global audiences.
