The critically acclaimed, multi-award-winning production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into The Woods is officially heading to the West End. Following its triumphant run at The Bridge, this "five-star triumph" will transfer to the Noël Coward Theatre this autumn, marking the first-ever West End transfer for the venue.

Director Jordan Fein’s production arrives at the Noël Coward Theatre on 7 October 2026, with previews beginning on 22 September. The strictly limited engagement will run until 9 January 2027. Tickets are on sale today, allowing a wider audience to experience what critics have called a "lush and arresting beauty."

Reprising her celebrated performance as the Witch is Kate Fleetwood, whose powerhouse turn has been a cornerstone of the production’s success. Fleetwood, a Tony and Olivier nominee, leads a show that brilliantly weaves together the Brothers Grimm’s most famous fairy tales—Cinderella, Little Red Ridinghood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel—to explore what happens after "happily ever after."

The transfer follows a spectacular awards season for the production. At the most recent Olivier Awards, it took home the trophy for Best Musical Revival, alongside awards for Best Lighting Design (Aideen Malone and Roland Horvath). The show also earned two Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards, including the inaugural Best Ensemble or Cast Award and Best Designer for Tom Scutt.

Producer Jamie Wilson expressed his pride in the move: “Sondheim and Lapine’s Into The Woods is, quite simply, a masterpiece. Jordan and Tom’s production is the perfect imaging of this very singular piece, and I’m honoured to bring it to the intimacy of the Noël Coward Theatre.”

First appearing on Broadway in 1986, Into The Woods remains one of Sondheim’s most beloved works. This latest reimagining has been praised by Time Out as "sublime," offering a thrillingly mischievous look at desire, sacrifice, and community.
