Following a sell-out, critically acclaimed run at the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the hilarious and emotionally raw comedy drama FLUSH arrives at London’s Arcola Theatre this spring. Running from 6 May to 6 June 2026, the play offers an intimate, unfiltered look at modern womanhood through the unique lens of a nightclub bathroom.

An Ode to the "Magical Space" of Women's Toilets

Written by April Hope Miller and directed by Merle Wheldon, FLUSH is set entirely within the confines of a London club bathroom. Over the course of a single night, the stage becomes a whirlwind of connection as sixteen different women pass through each other’s lives.

The play captures the fleeting but profound bonds formed in these spaces—from the "hype girls" handing out loo roll to the quiet moments of rebuilding. The characters represent a broad spectrum of experiences: a young American woman navigating the aftermath of an assault, a hen do unraveling, teenagers on their first night out, and members of the queer and trans communities. Through conversations ranging from TikTok trends to the weight of the patriarchy, FLUSH explores the tension between performative support and genuine solidarity.

For writer and performer April Hope Miller, bringing the show to the Arcola is a homecoming. "My nights out in London and the people I met along the way informed so much of this play," Miller explains. "Despite what many romcoms would have you believe, women are unquantifiably complex, empathetic, flawed, and brilliantly absurd. I hope audiences see themselves in these characters and know they are not alone."

The production arrives with significant momentum, having secured the Fringe Theatre Award and a 2025 Bitesize Award. Produced by the all-women team at Launch Box in association with KB Productions, FLUSH features a versatile cast including Miller, Ayesha Griffiths, Jazz Jenkins, Miya Ocego, and Joanna Strafford.

The Arcola Theatre, known for its daring and socially engaged programming, provides the perfect backdrop for this trailblazing work. As the venue continues its mission to champion diversity and original storytelling, FLUSH stands out as a vital piece of contemporary theatre.

FLUSH runs at the Arcola Theatre from 6 May – 6 June 2026. Tickets are available now at www.arcolatheatre.com.
