National Theatre at Home, the pioneering streaming platform for world-class stage productions, has unveiled an incredible slate of releases for Spring 2026. Led by a "Director’s Cut" of Audra McDonald’s breathtaking concert and a rare mother-daughter pairing of Imelda Staunton and Bessie Carter, the new additions continue the NT's mission to bring the magic of the West End to global audiences.
A Broadway Icon at the Palladium
Kicking off the headlining releases on 28 April is Audra McDonald: I Am What I Am (Director’s Cut). The record-breaking six-time Tony Award winner performs legendary Broadway staples, including "Summertime" and "I Could Have Danced All Night." This special cut features a never-before-seen concert performance of "Rose’s Turn" from Gypsy, accompanied by the 40-piece London Musical Theatre Orchestra.
A Family Affair in Mrs. Warren’s Profession
On 14 April, five-time Olivier Award winner Imelda Staunton (The Crown) stars alongside her real-life daughter, Bessie Carter (Bridgerton), in Bernard Shaw’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession. Filmed live in the West End and directed by Dominic Cooke, the production has been hailed as "startlingly fresh," exploring the biting conflict between traditional morality and female independence.
Modern Classics and Family Favorites
The rollout begins earlier in the month with two highly anticipated titles:
End (24 March): The final chapter of David Eldridge’s acclaimed relationship trilogy (Beginning, Middle). Starring Clive Owen and Saskia Reeves, this "touching and funny" play explores a life well-lived under the direction of Rachel O’Riordan.
Ballet Shoes (31 March): A worldwide release of Katy Rudd’s "perfect joy" adaptation of the Noel Streatfeild novel. This vibrant production brought the beloved story of the Fossil sisters to the Olivier Stage in a version by Kendall Feaver.
Since its 202 launch, National Theatre at Home has grown to house over 110 productions, with subscriptions starting at £9.99 a month. In a commitment to accessibility, all new titles include captions and Audio Description.
