Perform Productions has officially unveiled the cast and creative team for its latest family stage adventure, Midnight in the Toyshop. The new "mini-musical" is set to take over London’s historic St Martin’s Theatre for a strictly limited engagement during the Easter holidays, running from Tuesday 7 to Sunday 12 April 2026 buy tickets below.

The production features a seasoned West End cast with a combined pedigree including Matilda the Musical, MAMMA MIA!, and The Spongebob Musical, alongside familiar faces from CBeebies' Hey Duggee. Tom Griffiths leads the company in the triple role of Magical Man, Sergeant Snap, and the villainous Peyton Pixel. Joining him are Darren Hart as the cake-loving Grumble the Dinosaur, Joshua LeClair as Stardust, and Joy Brenugat as the feisty Belle Ballerina. The ensemble is completed by Michelina DeVeas, Sophie Ladds, Reece Kerridge, and Chloe Way.

Written and directed by Will Barnett and produced by Lucy Quick, the show follows the success of Perform Productions’ previous West End hits, Jungle Rumble and Magical Merlin. The narrative centers on a magical toyshop that comes to life at midnight, only to face an existential threat from tech entrepreneur Peyton Pixel. His plan? To demolish the shop and replace it with an AI experience centre. The toys must embark on a high-octane mission to prove that real children still value tangible play and true friendship over cold technology.

The creative engine behind the show includes designer Libby Watson, choreographer Hollie Duncan, and musical director Annemarie Lewis Thomas. St Martin’s Theatre, famous as the long-term home of The Mousetrap, will host performances at family-friendly intervals (11:00, 11:30, and 14:00), making it an accessible centerpiece for an Easter day out in the capital.

Perform Productions, the theatrical arm of the renowned Perform drama schools, continues its mission to bridge the gap between professional theatre and child-led creativity. Following their ambitious Perform in the Park festival in 2023, this latest residency confirms their status as leaders in high-quality entertainment for audiences aged three and above.
