This summer, the West End welcomes a star-studded revival of Florian Zeller’s Olivier Award-nominated comedy, The Truth. Opening at the Apollo Theatre on June 9, 2026, the production features an elite ensemble of stage and screen favorites, including Stephen Mangan, Ardal O’Hanlon, Sarah Hadland, and double Olivier Award-winner Janie Dee.

Translated by Christopher Hampton and directed by Lindsay Posner, the play is a razor-sharp exploration of adultery, deception, and the fragile nature of honesty. The plot centers on Michel (Mangan), a man entangled in an affair with his best friend’s wife. As he attempts to navigate a labyrinth of his own making, Michel discovers that he may not be the only one playing a double game. Zeller’s meticulously crafted script keeps the audience delightfully off-balance, questioning who is deceiving whom until the final curtain.

The production marks a significant return to London for Stephen Mangan, known for his work in The Split and Episodes. He is joined by comedy icon Ardal O’Hanlon (Father Ted) and Sarah Hadland (Miranda), bringing a formidable level of comic timing to Zeller’s biting dialogue. Producer Simon Friend, who previously collaborated with Zeller on the Academy Award-winning film The Father, describes the play as an "ingenious puzzle" that evolves from a playful comedy into something profoundly deeper.

Running for a strictly limited 14-week season until September 12, 1026, The Truth showcases Zeller’s trademark psychological insight. While the playwright is celebrated for the emotional gravity of works like The Father and The Son, this production highlights his gift for blending tension with uproarious, laugh-out-loud humor.

With set and costume design by Lizzie Clachan, this new staging is produced by Melting Pot, the team behind several of Zeller’s previous West End successes. Tickets for this sophisticated and fast-paced revival go on sale today, February 27, at noon.
