On April 22, 2026, London’s King’s Cross will transform into a celestial gateway for music fans as Lightroom debuts its latest 360-degree spectacle, David Bowie: You’re Not Alone. Following the global success of collaborations with David Hockney and Tom Hanks, Lightroom’s new show offers an unprecedented, intimate self-portrait of the man who redefined modern culture.

Beyond the Personas

While Bowie was famous for his "masks"—from the extraterrestrial Ziggy Stardust to the icy Thin White Duke—You’re Not Alone purposefully strips away the artifice. Featuring the artist’s own voice as the sole narrator, the experience focuses on the human behind the icons: the songwriter, the polymath, and the creative provocateur.

Mark Grimmer, Creative Director (who previously led the V&A’s record-breaking David Bowie Is exhibition), returns to direct this project alongside Tom Wexler. "Bowie repeatedly resisted being figured as anything but human," Grimmer notes. "We designed a show to celebrate Bowie as a champion of human creativity."

A Multimedia Time Machine

Drawing from thousands of hours of material within the David Bowie Archive in New York, the show features rarely-seen footage, personal notes, and lyrics. Utilizing Lightroom’s specialized spatial audio system, sound designer Gareth Fry has reconfigured classic tracks to provide an immersive "up close" feeling.

The exhibition is structured in thematic chapters, looping through Bowie’s perspectives on theatricality, spirituality, and the transformative power of art. Highlights include:

The Diamond Dogs Tour: A reconstructed digital set that materializes before the audience.

Rare Interviews: Artful moments like his 1975 transatlantic chat with Russell Harty.

Sonic Journey: A spatial audio voyage from Space Oddity through “Heroes” to his final masterpiece, ? (Blackstar).

Ticket Information

Authorized by the David Bowie Estate, the show is set to be a major cultural fixture for 2026. Tickets go on sale today, February 10, at 7:00 PM GMT, with prices starting at £25 for adults and £15 for concessions.
