London’s St. Martin’s Lane is set to transform into a high-fashion runway on Sunday, 29 March, as the brand-new production of KINKY BOOTS The Musical hosts a spectacular Gala Night at the London Coliseum. This exclusive, star-studded event is held in support of WaterAid, the international charity dedicated to providing clean water and hygiene to communities worldwide.
Strutting for a Cause
The gala arrives as part of the show's limited 17-week residency, running from 17 March to 11 July 2026. Taking center stage are Johannes Radebe as the iconic Lola and Matt Cardle as Charlie Price. Radebe, a passionate WaterAid supporter, was inspired to champion this partnership after a visit to his home country of South Africa last year.
In the Limpopo province, Radebe witnessed firsthand the life-altering impact of accessible water. "I met families who spoke about the hours spent walking to collect water and the life-changing impact of having it closer to home," Radebe remarked. "I am thrilled that our gala performance will be raising money for WaterAid so that others can follow their dreams too. It’s going to be quite a celebration."
A Celebration of Community
The musical—featuring a book by Harvey Fierstein and a legendary score by Cyndi Lauper—tells the heart-warming true story of an unlikely friendship between a struggling factory owner and a fabulous drag queen. Directed by Nikolai Foster, this production emphasizes themes of inclusion and individuality that align perfectly with WaterAid’s mission.
