The West End premiere of the stage adaptation of the horror phenomenon Paranormal Activity has released its chilling production photography as the show extends its run at the Ambassadors Theatre through to Saturday 28 March 2026.
The stage play, an original story inspired by the terrifying film series, began performances on Friday 5 December 2025. It promises an unsettling intimacy that only live theatre can provide, plunging audiences into an atmosphere of creeping dread and psychological tension.
Reprising their acclaimed roles from the Leeds Playhouse run are Patrick Heusinger as ‘James’ and Melissa James as ‘Lou.’ The story follows the couple as they move from Chicago to London to escape their past, only to discover that "places aren’t haunted, people are." They are joined by fellow returning cast members Pippa Winslow and Jackie Morrison.
The production features a heavyweight creative team: it is written by acclaimed playwright Levi Holloway, whose theatrical thriller Grey House chilled Broadway audiences, and is directed by Felix Barrett, the visionary Founder and Artistic Director of immersive theatre pioneers Punchdrunk. The Chicago Tribune praised the production's effectiveness, stating: “Will I be scared? Yes. How scared? Very. Cleverly, too.”
The London run follows a successful North American tour, which recently played to critical acclaim at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. Barrett brings his signature style to the production, utilizing innovative staging, chilling soundscapes, and illusions by Chris Fisher to immerse the audience and blur the lines between performer and spectator.
The show is a bold reinterpretation of the original 2009 film, which became a global sensation and launched a successful horror franchise.
