Rehearsals are now underway as full casting is announced for the World Premiere stage adaptation of the iconic 1990s psychological thriller, Single White Female. The production is set to launch a major UK and Ireland theatre tour starting January 2026.
Leading the cast is actor, TV presenter, and singer Kym Marsh (Coronation Street, Waterloo Road) as Hedy, starring opposite actor, TV presenter, and chef Lisa Faulkner (Holby City, The Girl Before) as Allie. Faulkner’s role marks her return to the stage after a 21-year hiatus. The pair lead this bold, modern reimagining of the hit 1992 film and John Lutz's bestselling book, which updates the chilling story for the age of social media.
The new play, adapted by author and journalist Rebecca Reid, opens on January 9, 2026, at Brighton’s Theatre Royal before touring until mid-June. The story centers on Allie, a recently divorced single mother launching a tech start-up who takes on a lodger, Hedy, to help make ends meet. Their arrangement quickly descends into an obsessive nightmare as boundaries blur.
Joining Marsh and Faulkner are Andro as Graham, Jonny McGarrity as Sam, and Amy Snudden as Bella.
Director Gordon Greenberg (Guys & Dolls, The Heart of Rock and Roll) heads the creative team, promising a show full of dark humor, sharp suspense, and a look at the "desperate need for belonging in an isolated world."
Both leads expressed their excitement for the project. Kym Marsh recalled being "totally gripped by the movie" and encouraged audiences to "get ready to be thrilled, shocked and entertained." Lisa Faulkner added that she got "chills" watching the original film, making her return to the stage opposite the "utterly fantastic Kym Marsh" a real thrill.
Tickets for the six-month tour, produced by JAS Theatricals, ATG Productions, and Gavin Kalin Productions, are on sale now at SWFonstage.com.
