To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original film's UK release, the acclaimed West End production of BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical is staging a unique performance on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, at the Adelphi Theatre.
In an unprecedented event, former leads Olly Dobson and Ben Joyce will make a special return to the role of 'Marty McFly,' joining the current star, Caden Brauch. All three actors will share the iconic role throughout the celebratory evening.
Olly Dobson, who originated the role and received an Olivier Award nomination, called returning "super exciting," stating, "Let's celebrate the 40th anniversary of the film with this very special performance." Ben Joyce, a What’s On Stage Award nominee for his takeover performance, added, "It’s not often you get three Marty’s on one stage! What a legacy it has been!"
Since premiering, BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical has won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical and has shattered box office records, entering its fifth year in London. The production is a global sensation, with shows touring in North America, Japan, Australia, and an upcoming UK tour in 2026. So far, the musical has been seen by over 3.8 million people worldwide.
The production continues to star Cory English as Doctor Emmett Brown and features a multi-award-winning creative and design team. Based on the 1985 Universal Pictures film, the musical features new music by Grammy Award-winners Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, alongside classic hits like "The Power of Love" and "Johnny B. Goode."
Tickets for the show are currently booking until Sunday, 12 April 2026, giving audiences plenty of time to catch the electrifying, time-travelling spectacular.
