The acclaimed new musical 'The Ballad of Johnny & June', which celebrates the electrifying lives and music of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, is set for a major tour of the UK and Ireland in 2026. Following sold-out seasons in New York and Canada, the production will launch its transatlantic debut at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre on March 2, 2026, before visiting over 20 theatres nationwide through September.

A Love Story Told Through Legendary Hits

This is the story of a love that truly burned, tracking the soaring highs and shattering lows of one of the 20th century’s most infamous musical couples. The narrative is told through the eyes of their son, John Carter Cash, and is packed with legendary hits including "Ring of Fire," "I Walk the Line," "Jackson," and "I’ve Been Everywhere."

Johnny Cash, who sold over 90 million records and won 13 Grammy Awards, and June Carter Cash, a multi-talented pioneer and five-time Grammy winner, were married in 1968 and remained together until June's death in 2003.

Award-Winning Creative Team

The musical is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff, known for blockbusters like Jersey Boys and The Who’s Tommy. The production is brought to the UK and Ireland by a formidable team of producers, including Trafalgar Theatre Productions, the Dodgers, Tommy Mottola, and TEG Dainty.

Producer Howard Panter expressed his excitement, stating that the show is "A journey through love, struggle and redemption told through some of the greatest music ever written and brought to life by an exceptional creative team."

The tour includes stops at major venues such as the Dublin Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Edinburgh Festival, The Lowry in Salford, and the Grand Opera House in Belfast.

Tickets for 'The Ballad of Johnny & June' are on sale now, November 7th, at 10:00 AM, and can be purchased from JohnnyAndJuneMusical.com.
