Bristol Old Vic has just announced a wave of new shows for its spring 2026 season, adding a mix of West End hits, beloved adaptations, and top-tier comedy to its lineup. The newly announced shows include the chilling ghost story 'The Woman in Black', the heartwarming stage adaptation of 'The Boy at the Back of the Class', and the welcome return of the spontaneous musical comedy, 'Showstopper!'.
Tickets for these shows are on sale to members now and will be available to the general public on Friday, September 26, at 10 a.m.
Making its first appearance at Bristol Old Vic is the legendary production of 'The Woman in Black', running from April 21-25, 2026. As one of the most successful and longest-running shows in London's West End, this production promises to be a masterclass in atmosphere and controlled horror.
The family-friendly addition, 'The Boy at the Back of the Class', will run from March 31 to April 4, 2026. Based on the award-winning novel by Onjali Q. Raúf, the play is a joyous and hilarious adventure that celebrates friendship, kindness, and courage, told from a child's perspective.
Kicking off the new year is the Olivier Award-winning 'Showstopper! The Improvised Musical', from January 27-31, 2026. Each performance creates a brand new musical comedy from scratch based on audience suggestions, ensuring a fresh and hilarious experience every time. The group will also bring back their popular 'Kids Show' on January 31, taking suggestions directly from the younger audience members.
These new shows join a spring season that already includes a host of exciting productions, such as Noël Coward's Private Lives and the acclaimed Frantic Assembly production, Lost Atoms.
