Stranger Things: The First Shadow, the Olivier Award-winning play, is celebrating its second anniversary in the West End by announcing a new lead cast and extending its run at the Phoenix Theatre until April 5, 2026. To mark the occasion, Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions are releasing a limited number of tickets for just £19.59, available for 72 hours only for select performances from November 18 to December 12, 2025.

The new cast, set to begin performances on November 12, 2025, includes Jack Christou as Henry Creel, Stewart Clarke as Dr. Brenner, Avril Maponga as Patty Newby, and Max Potter as Bob Newby. Adam Wadsworth and Edie Wright will also join the company as James Hopper Jr. and Joyce Maldonado, respectively. The timing of the new cast’s debut is particularly exciting for fans, as it comes just ahead of the highly anticipated fifth season of the hit Netflix series.

The critically acclaimed production continues to earn praise, with the Daily Telegraph calling it "the event of the year" and the Evening Standard hailing it as "streets ahead of anything else." Its success has already expanded across the Atlantic, with a Broadway production that opened earlier this year and is now booking through March 2026. The play’s numerous accolades include the Olivier Awards for Best Entertainment and Best Set Design, as well as four Tony Awards on Broadway, including a special Tony for Illusions and Technical Effects.

In other news, the production has partnered with Go Live Theatre, a charity that provides theatre experiences to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. As part of this partnership, an Education Matinee will be held on November 21, offering students from London-area state schools the chance to see the show for just £10 a ticket.

For those curious about the magic behind the show, the official documentary Behind the Curtain: Stranger Things: The First Shadow is available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
