The acclaimed musical The Last Five Years will be revived for a multi-venue tour, with Martha Kirby and Guy Woolf set to star. The production is a collaboration between the Barn Theatre, Reading Rep Theatre, and Theatre Royal Bath, and will be directed by Hal Chambers.

The show will begin its run at Reading Rep Theatre from September 19 to October 12, before moving to the Barn Theatre in Cirencester from October 17 to November 15. The tour will conclude at the Ustinov Studio at Theatre Royal Bath from November 25 to January 3.

Martha Kirby, who will play Cathy, is fresh off her role as Wendy in the world premiere of the immersive musical Club NVRLND at the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Her previous credits include leading roles in Evita and the UK tour of Bat Out Of Hell. Playing Jamie is Guy Woolf, whose recent work includes playing Reyzl the Dame in Yankl and the Beanstalk and appearing as alternate Sonny in the UK tour of The Cher Show.

Director Hal Chambers expressed his passion for the project, calling it "the one musical I’ve always dreamed of staging." He praised Tony Award-winning writer Jason Robert Brown's work, describing the show's unique narrative structure—with one character's story moving forward in time and the other's backward—as a "compelling theatrical puzzle reminiscent of a Christopher Nolan film."

This revival promises to be a deeply personal and emotionally resonant production, leaning into a "dreamlike, poetic" style that will explore the raw beauty of love and heartbreak.
