A raw and poetic physical theatre journey through bipolar disorder, trauma, and healing.

How do you move forward when your mind keeps pulling you back?

Told through flashbacks and dynamic shifts in time, we follow the highs and lows of Ella’s inner world—moments of excitement and creativity with unstoppable energy, followed by deep sadness and overwhelming darkness. Flashbacks collide with the present. Time loops, emotions spiral. Joy, chaos, grief, numbness—all take shape through the body.

At its core, this is not just a story about mental illness, it’s about being human. It is a reflection on memory, resilience, and the fragility of identity. A dance of the mind made visible, it invites the audience to step inside the experience of mental fragmentation and the longing to piece yourself back together with immersive visual design.

July 15th to… is a one-act Physical Theatre exploration of bipolar disorder and healing.

About the Team
Created by a female-led creative team, July 15th to… draws from the real-life experiences of producer and director Wangjiayu Chu (Stephanie), whose personal journey with mental health inspired the work. Developed by a collective of female artists passionate about storytelling through movement and grounded in extensive research, the piece invites audiences into Ella’s internal world, where memories, emotions, and time collide in a vivid, sensory landscape.

This bold exploration of dance and embodiment asks: Can trauma ever lead to healing? And what does that journey truly look like from the inside?

Liping Jiang (Movement Director) is a co-founder of WhichWitch, a female-led performance collective focused on socially engaged art. Her work has been featured at global platforms including the Cefalù Film Festival (Italy) and the Lift-Off Global Network (UK).
