Shakespeare meets sitcom in this bold, hilarious new adaptation from the Constellation Players!
This summer, grab a coffee, pull up a chair, and prepare to laugh your way through love, lies, and lattes. Constellation Players presents a fresh take on Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, reimagined through the lens of the iconic 90s sitcom.
Part of the 2025 Camden Fringe programme, tickets are available now for the 26th and 27th of August, 7.30 pm, at the Bridewell Theatre in Blackfriars.
Set in Leonato’s café, this modern retelling follows six close-knit companions whose romantic entanglements and clever deceptions play out with wit, warmth, and a generous helping of chaos. Claudio and Hero are hopelessly in love, Beatrice and Benedick are hopelessly at war, and Margaret and Don Pedro are—well—hopelessly meddling.
Award-winning director Madison Cole, whose previous three Fringe productions received London transfers, is joined by a stellar cast of performers whose previous credits include the Cannes Film Festival, Apple TV, Jermyn Street Theatre, Birmingham Rep, and the American Drama Group.
Directed with flair and precision, this is Constellation Players’ third major production, following their inventive stagings of Venus and Adonis and Julius Caesar. Known for their bold, pared-down adaptations, the company takes sprawling classical texts and reshapes them into fast-paced, emotionally rich pieces performed by a dynamic small cast.
Constellation Players is a rising force in London’s fringe theatre scene, showcasing a company of highly trained, passionate actors dedicated to breathing new life into classical works. Critics are already taking notice, with Jessica Holt of The Archer noting that their interpretation of Venus and Adonis “works really well… offers pace, humour and tragedy at appropriate moments.”
Whether you’re a Shakespeare lover, a Friends fanatic, or just in need of a night of feel-good theatre, this production promises heart, hilarity, and a few surprises.
