North London's Park Theatre is set to become a vibrant hub of laughter this summer, with the announcement of a jam-packed "Park Laughs" series. The programme features a compelling mix of fully developed shows, works-in-progress, and highly anticipated Edinburgh Fringe previews, showcasing over 30 comedians, including four exclusive dates with record-breaking comic James Acaster.
Acaster, known for his five consecutive Edinburgh Fringe nominations and pioneering Netflix specials, will be trying out new material in hour-long sessions on July 16th & 17th, and August 24th & 31st. These rare opportunities offer fans a glimpse into the creative process of one of the UK’s most celebrated comedic minds.
June kicks off with a quartet of comedians road-testing fresh work in double bills. Anna Hale presents Control Freak alongside Pedro Leandro’s Soft Animal on June 20th. The following night, Cabbage The Clown brings Cinemadrome while Bebe Cave debuts CHRISTBRIDE on June 21st. Further work-in-progress nights in June and July feature double bills from Eric Rushton and Hasan Al-Habib (June 29th), and Sharon Wanjohi and Marty Gleeson (July 4th), all honing their Edinburgh Fringe-bound shows.
The week before the Edinburgh Festival Fringe sees a concentrated series of Avalon Edinburgh Previews (July 21st – 26th), with double bills from top acts like Matt Forde and Joe Kent-Walters, Glenn Moore and Johnny White Really-Really, Chloe Petts and Pierre Novellie, Sophie Duker and Bella Hull, Rob Auton, and Andrew Doherty, promising an intimate sneak peek at festival highlights.
One-off performances of fully developed shows include Chris Grace: Sardines (July 20th), delving into existential questions with comedic flair, and Cally Beaton: Namaste Motherf*ckers (July 27th), a celebratory and unapologetic look at midlife. Additionally, Park Laughs Live returns on July 11th, bringing together household names like Pierre Novellie, Catherine Bohart, and Celya AB with exciting rising stars.
For younger audiences, Comedy Club 4 Kids continues its monthly Sunday slot, offering family-friendly stand-up without the rude bits, ensuring laughter for all ages.
