Amanda Fawcett Productions Ltd and Bristol Old Vic are thrilled to unveil the exceptional cast set to bring Timothy X Atack's highly anticipated queer, sci-fi drama, DELAY, to life this summer. Premiering from June 19th to July 5th at the Bristol Old Vic, this heart-wrenching yet hopeful tale promises an unforgettable theatrical experience.

Leading the charge in the pivotal role of LIN is Jyuddah Jaymes. This marks a significant return for the actor, who is an alumnus of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Jaymes garnered critical acclaim for his portrayal of AJ in the theatre's multi-award-winning CHOIR BOY, and his impressive screen credits include THE BOYS IN THE BOAT (MGM), CRIMINAL (Netflix), and HIJACK (Apple TV+).

Completing the cast in vital voice roles are two distinguished actors. Critically acclaimed Alex Lawther, known for his roles in HAMLET (Robert Icke, The Armory New York), THE END OF THE F*ing WORLD (Channel 4/Netflix), and STAR WARS: ANDOR (Disney+), will lend his voice to SILAS, the lover left behind on Earth. Joining him is Vera Chok, recognized for her work in 2:22 GHOST STORY and HOLLYOAKS (Channel 4), who will voice AUTO, the ship's AI operating system and LIN's sole companion on his interstellar journey.

DELAY follows astronaut Lin on a pioneering solo mission to a distant planet, tasked with creating a new home for humankind. However, the unforgiving laws of relativity mean that days for Lin translate into decades for Silas, his lover back on Earth. Their only connection is a series of poignant voice messages, creating an epic story of enduring love and hope against impossible odds.

Directed by the visionary Tanuja Amarasuriya, a recipient of the RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award, DELAY is a testament to Bristol Old Vic's dedication to championing South West creatives. Writer Timothy X Atack is celebrated for his multi-award-winning FOREST 404 (BBC Sounds) and HEARTWORM (Bruntwood Prize winner).

Tickets for DELAY are on sale now, offering audiences the chance to connect with this gripping, moving, and extraordinary production.
