Following previous runs in London in February 2023 and 2023’s Edinburgh Fringe, Can’t Wait To Leave will be touring venues in England and Wales between August and November 2024. Returning in the lead role of Ryan will be Zach Hawkins (Chippy, I Am Kevin), with Zoey Boyd (Loop, Bodas de Sangre) and Joe Idris-Roberts (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Pinocchio) in supporting voice roles.

This will be the first venture from newly-formed theatre company 1912 Productions.

Taking place entirely inside a hospital waiting room, Can’t Wait To Leave is told by Ryan - bruised, bisexual, and entirely alone. Finding the provided incident form inadequate to explain the reason for his visit, Ryan instead begins to reflect on the course his life has taken over the last six months after the sudden departure of the older brother he always hero-worshipped. Fierce, razor-sharp, and uncompromisingly honest, this revolutionary solo show explores themes of displacement, substance abuse, and sexual identity.

Can't Wait To Leave had its world premiere in February 2023 and received overwhelmingly strong reviews, with praise directed at the play's humour, staging, and deft handling of challenging topics. Further acclaim came during its run at the Edinburgh Fringe, with the show being nominated for an OffFest award as well as being a finalist for three DarkChat awards (Best Actor, Best Play, Best Solo Show).
