Laced with nostalgia, music, and letters, Cassette '93 tackles different concepts of family, love, and culture.

Cassette ’93 is a new piece of bilingual writing inspired by the lives of real women from Colombia. This nonlinear piece explores the lives of three women across two timelines, each struggling with their own values, identities, and ambitions. But it just might be the 90’s Colombian tape recordings that bring these women together again.

Cassette '93 tackles various themes rarely depicted by Latin women on stage. Set against the backdrops of modern-day London and 90's Cali, each character grapples with the complexities of identity, grief, and culture; inviting audiences to contemplate the effects and sacrifices of immigrants and how these choices reverberate through future generations.

Karoline Palacios Jørgensen is a dynamic debut writer. Infusing her work with a unique blend of comedy and drama, she typically explores subjects that tackle mental health, identity, multiculturalism and nostalgia. With a penchant for naturalistic dialogue set within a multi-media framework, she loves to constantly reinvent and improve her writing and hopes to continue to develop Cassette '93 further, with a larger Latin reach.
