Summary: Horrible Histories Celebrates 21 Gory Years in the West End
Birmingham Stage Company marks a dual milestone this summer as Horrible Histories: Barmy Britain - The Best Bits! returns to London’s Apollo Theatre. Celebrating 21 years on stage and 15 years in the West End, this anniversary production compiles the "greatest hits" from the hit series for a strictly limited run from 30 July to 31 August 2026.
Directed by Neal Foster, the 70-minute "romp through the nation’s remarkable past" features the most farcical and fearsome facts from British history. From the putrid plague and "Gunpowder Guy" to the villainous Burke and Hare, the show promises a fact-filled, "riotous" experience for ages 5 to 105.
Based on Terry Deary’s best-selling book series, this "British institution" remains a summer holiday highlight. Tickets start at £19.50, offering families a final "gory" treat before the school year returns.
