Mischief, the award-winning company behind The Play That Goes Wrong, Magic Goes Wrong and The Comedy About A Bank Robbery, today announce the return of Mischief Movie Night, the improvised movie live on stage, which will play selected outdoor dates this Summer at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Minack Theatre, Brighton Open Air Theatre and New Normal Festival with more venues to be announced soon.
Mischief are back and return with their comedy Mischief Movie Night, the improvised movie live on stage! You suggest a genre, location and title and Mischief’s improvisers bring the show to life, complete with rewinds, fast forwards, directors cuts and an entirely improvised live score. Starring them, directed by you, Mischief Movie Night is a guaranteed comedy blockbuster!
The cast includes Henry Lewis as Not Sure, Bryony Corrigan as Uncertain, Dave Hearn as No Idea, Nancy Zamit as Don’t Know Yet, Henry Shields as Couldn’t Tell You, Harry Kershaw as TBC, Ellie Morris as Who Knows, Jonathan Sayer as ??? Mike Bodie as Guess Who, Niall Ransome as Unknown and Joshua Elliott as We’ll have to see. They will be joined onstage by musicians Yshani Perinpanayagam, Richard Baker, Jordan Clarke and Ed Zanders.
Mischief Theatre Ltd. was founded in 2008 by a group of acting graduates of LAMDA and began as an improvised comedy group. Mischief performs across the UK and internationally with original scripted and improvised work and also has a programme of workshops. Mischief Theatre’s other London productions are The Play That Goes Wrong and Magic Goes Wrong, at the Duchess Theatre and Vaudeville Theatre respectively which the team is hopeful will reopen soon along with two UK tours in 2021. Their recent six-part TV series called The Goes Wrong Show was aired on BBC One and has been commissioned for a second series which begins filming later this year. The company is owned and controlled by its original members and is led by a creative group and its directors Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer. On the company’s return to the stage Mischief said:
“Since the pandemic has struck it’s been very difficult to plan any theatre so we’re presenting a piece of theatre that is entirely unplanned… what could possibly go wrong?"
Mischief Movie Night is created by Mischief. Adam Meggido is the improvisation consultant. Mischief Movie Night has been produced in the West End by Kenny Wax Ltd, Stage Presence Ltd and Mischief Theatre Ltd and this open air tour is being produced by Mischief Theatre Ltd.
