Infinite Space Theatre is bringing a terrifying re-imagining of W. W. Jacobs’ macabre ghost story, The Monkey’s Paw, to The Hope Theatre in Islington this October. The spine-tingling production will run from October 21st to November 8th, 2025, with the official Press Night set for Thursday, October 23rd.

The chilling adaptation plunges the audience into the isolation of Edwardian London, where newlyweds John and Jenny White face a life far removed from their youthful hopes. As a World War rumbles and poverty bites, the couple find themselves living in a bleak, isolated cottage. Their misery deepens, haunted by the ravages of childlessness and mounting financial struggles.

Their fate changes dramatically with the arrival of a mysterious, ancient object: a ghoulish talisman rumored to grant wishes. The couple must confront the profound moral dilemma of whether to use this object as a remedy for their troubles or risk plunging into far greater miseries. The play serves as a chilling reminder to be careful what you wish for, exploring the dangers of meddling with fate.

The production is devised, written, and produced by Infinite Space Theatre, whose previous work has been praised for its "magic" and "imaginative production" (Remotegoat, WhatsonStage). The cast features Steven Maddocks as John White and Josephine Rogers as Jenny White, under the direction of Leah Townley. The creative atmosphere is enhanced by Sound Design from Peter Michaels.

Tickets for The Monkey’s Paw start at £18, with a special preview price of £10. The show runs Tuesday to Saturday at 7:45 PM.
